DAYS 1 - 2 LEAVE USA

Evening departure on widebody jet for Seoul, crossing en route the International Date Line.

DAY 3 SEOUL

Early morning arrival in Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea (South Korea), country of a hardy and handsome people south of the 38th parallel on the Korean peninsula defended by US, ROK and United Nations forces in the fierce Korean War of 1950-53. Since then Seoul and the country have prospered impressively, as evident in your tour of the city, including the royal palace of Kyongbokkung with its 70,000 piece National Museum and graceful Kyonghoeru pavilion; the Folklore Museum, the Chogyesa temple of Chogyejong sect of Korean Buddhism and a drive along Bukak skyway with its splendid views over the city.

DAYS 4- 5 SEOUL

Days free to roam the big department stores (Mitopa, Lotte) and underground arcades (Chungmu), Insadong area's art and antiques galleries, the bargain shops of It'aewon district and the fashionable tailors and dressmakers (including traditional han bok dresses) in Myongdong district. Optional tours: Ch'angdokkung Palace with its beautifully landscaped Secret Gardens (Piwon) of pavilions, ponds and woods, Korean Folk Village at Young-in (rural archietcture, agriculture, handicrafts and lifestyles), historic Panmunjom of the 1953 Armistice or a day trip to the "Museum Without Walls" of Kyongju (and idyllic Bomun Lake Resort), capital of the great Silla Kingdom, unifier of the country 1300 years ago.

DAY 6 SEOUL/HONG KONG

Fly this morning to another shoppers' paradise, symbolized by the ubiquitous "quality control" red boat emblem of the Hong Kong Tourist Association. A tram ride up Victoria Peak offers one of the world's unforgettable sights: a bird's eye view of the city skyline of glittering skyscrapers lining the harbor, the sleek new malls and hotels across in East Tsimshatsui, the soft green hills of the New Territories receding into the distance. Also visit Repulse Bay, Stanley Market and Aberdeen's flotilla of junks and sampans, where you may later enjoy a banquet on a floating restaurant.

DAYS 7-9 HONG KONG

Three exciting days for sightseeing, day trips and exploring the main shopping areas on Hong Kong island and in Kowloon which extend out from the Star Ferry piers on each side of the harbor: on the island beginning with Connaught Road Central and including Causeway Bay, in Kowloon with East Tsimshatsui and Nathan Road with its famed Golden Mile including pierside Ocean Terminal Building. . Plus activities galore: Victoria Harbour boat tour, Sung Dynasty village, Ocean Park, Happy Valley racetrack, the Arts Center in Wanchai, tram tour with cocktails; farther afield, discover Macau or explore the New Territories or serene, scenic islands like Lantau, Cheung Chau and a hundred others.

DAY 10 RETURN TO USA

Depart from Hong Kong, arriving back in USA the same day due to recrossing the International Date Line.
