DAY 01 BANGKOK/RANGOON
Fly this morning from Bangkok to Rangoon, the capital of Mayanmar. Among other attractions, your city tour includes visits to Karaweik Hall, the famous Shwedagon Pagoda and the National Museum.
DAY 02 RANGOON/KYAIKTIYO
An excursion by road, 190km, east of Rangoon, to Kyaiktiyo to view the legendary Golden Rock, a huge boulder, completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff.
DAY 03 KYAIKTIYO/BAGO
This morning continue to Bago, 110km, by road. Dating back to the sixteenth century, Bago was the ancient capital of the country. Sightseeing includes the Shwemawdaw, Shwe and the Lyaung Buddah image.
DAY 04 BAGO/RANGOON
Return by road to Rangoon, en route visit a handicraft village and the World War II allied War Cemetery. Afternoon free.
DAY 05 RANGOON/PAGAN
Today fly from Rangoon to Pagan (Bagan). Sightseeing of Pagan will include visits to various famous temples and pagodas - Shwezigon Pagoda, Ananda Temple, Shwesandaw Pagoda, Mnauha Temple. Nanbaya Temple and the museum.
DAY 06 PAGAN/KYAUK GU UMIN
Take a boat trip across the river to Kyauk Gu Umin and explore the temples and monasteries of the Bagan period. Continue exploring the major monuments and other sights of attraction.
DAY 07 KYAUK GU UMIN/MANDALAY
A 300km drive by road will take you across to Mandalay, the second largest city of mayanmar. En route you will visit Mount Popa and Meiktila. This scenic journey will pass through small villages with varied agricultural landscapes.
DAY 08 MANDALAY
Visit Mandalay Hill for a panoramic view of the city. Your city tour will include visits to the Golden Palace Monasteries, Kuthodaw Pagoda, Maha Muni Pagoda and a riverside jetty. In the afternoon visit Annapurna, the site of the ancient capital, U Bein Bridge and across the Ayeyarwaddy River to Sagaing Hills. Drive to Monywa, 150kl, from Mandalay.
DAY 09 MONYWA
Early morning cross the Chindwin River by ferry boat and proseed by motor coach, 45km to Phowin Taung, a complex of cave temples and shrines of over 450,000 images. Return to Monywa and visit Thambuddah Temple before returning to Mandalay.
DAY 10 MANDALY/MAYMYO
Morning at leisure or additional sighseeing. In the afternoon drive through a scenic road, 80km, to the famous hill station of Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo) with its lovely lake and the imposing buildings of the colonial era.
DAY 11 MAYMYO
Among other attractions, your sighseeing will include visit tolocal market by traditional horse-drawn carraiage, if available. Afternoon visit Peik Khin Myaung caves, a Buddhist shrine from ancient times.
DAY 12 MAYMYO/MANDALAY/HEHO
Drive back to Mandalay and transfer to airport for flight to Heho. On arrival proceed by road to Taunggyi, 45km, en route visiting a cheroot making factory.
DAY 13 HEHO
Excursion by boat on Inle Lake with a visit to Phaungdaw Pagoda and the weaving village of Inpawkhon. Continue by road to Pindaya and visit Pindaya caves.
DAY 14 HEHO/RANGOON
Morning at leisure or additional sightseeing. Afternoon transfer to the airport for a flight to Rangoon.
DAY 15 RANGOON/BANGKOK
Free time at leisure until you are tranferred to the airport for your flight back to Bangkok.
